This year's Literary London Program set for July

For the past eight years, the Literary London Program has given the opportunity to students to travel to London for a once in a lifetime experience. The trip to London is from July 5 through 21 and includes academic credit for two 3-credit hour courses.

Students will live two weeks in Bloomsbury at the University of London, Connaught Hall.

The courses will take a look at how literature and the ideas of Englishness are shaped by gender, race, class, sexuality, and transnational affiliations. Courses will be taught in the morning, and afternoons will consist of trips to museums, galleries, and other sites of cultural interest.

Other trips of interest for students include private access to Magdalen College, and Oxford University. During the trip to Oxford University, Fredonia alumnus Dr. Michael Piret, Dean of Divinity, will take the Fredonia group on a tour of the historic institution, the oldest university in the English-speaking world.

Travel also includes visits to Stonehenge, a neolithic burial chamber, and Glastonbury Tor and Abbey--the mythical burial site of King Arthur.

Community members who are interested can attend the trip for a slightly reduced fee.
