SUNY Fredonia to host summer programs for high school students
Once again, this summer, the State University of New York at Fredonia will host some of the most prolific future artists throughout the state.
University hosts visit by Japanese high school students
The International Pathway Program welcomed 14 high school students from Japan for a cultural exploration/learning experience in July that included attending classes in academic English and exploring Western New York.
Mock trial on April 1 calls for jury audience
The Fredonia Mock trial team will perform a case on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204ABC.The demonstration is intended to provide insight on mock trial. Team members will also briefly discuss the kind of work and time commitments that mock trial requires.
Signups begin for annual children's theatre camp
The annual program, which has quickly become one of the highlights of the university's summer season, once again offers two sessions to better maximize each child's abilities and experiences. Week One, which runs Aug. 12-17 and is for children ages 12-17, will be highlighted by the presentation of “High School Musical Jr.” The second camp, Aug. 19-24, is for children ages 8-12 and is capped by Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka Kids.” Children 12 years of age are eligible to attend both camps.

Middle schoolers invited to advanced math camp August 19-22
Registration is now underway for Camp COMETS, a four-day “day camp” at SUNY Fredonia that introduces talented middle-school students to advanced concepts in mathematics, engineering and science in fun and creative ways.
Marimba virtuoso will give two concerts in June
“Keiko Abe’s presence on our campus last summer was truly life changing. She enriched the cultural life of our students, our community, and many other participants who attended the Academy and we are confident that this will be another innovative and inspiring week,” said Kay Stonefelt, SUNY Fredonia percussion professor and lead organizer of the Keiko Abe Academy.
Two state arts schools for high school students open this month
Nearly 200 artistically gifted high school students from across New York State will gather at SUNY Fredonia to participate in two programs – Choral Studies and Visual Arts – offered by the New York State Summer School for the Arts program.
Summer dining on campus
Cranston Marche, the dining hall in University Commons, is open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner through Friday, August 2.
New students prepare for the Fredonia Experience
Nearly 1,500 students will begin their SUNY Fredonia experience by participating in one of six orientation programs designed to familiarize them with the campus, its available services and learning tools, as well as course requirements for general education and individual majors.
