COVID-19 Employee Information

As of March 1, 2024, the CDC has removed the isolation period for COVID-19. Under the updated Respiratory Virus Guidance, it is recommended that employees with a respiratory illness, including COVID-19, stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after both their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). Employees are encouraged to take additional precautions, including wearing a well-fitting mask and keeping a distance from others, for five days after this stay-at-home period. Please note, there are different requirements for healthcare settings.

COVID-19 EMPLOYEE FAQ’s

Please promptly email human.resources@fredonia.edu if you receive a positive COVID test result. In that message, please include the date of the positive test, whether you have symptoms, and other pertinent information. We will contact you as soon as possible to discuss.

If you are absent for five or more days, we will need additional documentation from your doctor in accordance with FMLA guidelines. If you anticipate being absent for five or more workdays for your recovery, please reach out to Human Resources as soon as possible.

There may be leave options available to you for these scenarios. Each has its own requirements and program limitations. You should contact Human Resources to discuss your options.
