The Campus Food Pantry/Basic Needs Center has been relocated from LoGrasso Hall to the newly-renovated Freddy's Locker.
The new location, on the first floor of the Williams Center next to the Blue Devil Lounge, will give students better access to the food pantry during evenings and weekends. Regular hours of operation will be Monday to Saturday, from 3 to 9 p.m., as well as some additional hours a couple of mornings a week (to be determined) to accommodate those who need an earlier pick-up time.
The pantry will reopen for the semester on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
As in the past, students will be able to use the Pantry Soft online software program located on the food pantry website as well as a QR code found on Food Pantry posters located in various areas around campus, to place their orders and choose a time for pickup.
With the new location comes an expanded variety of food choices including some perishable food options such as milk, eggs, butter and bread, along with what was offered in the past and even more.
Freddy's Locker will be staffed by students who are trained to answer questions about the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) as well as information about other basic needs resources on the SUNY Fredonia campus as well as in the surrounding community.
