Virtual employer showcase set to match students with job, internship opportunities

The Career Development Office announces the Fredonia Employer Showcase, which will take place remotely during the month of March and connect students with employers eager to recruit them for jobs and internships and to share career information that will be critical to their job search success.

The showcase is a series of employer-presented workshops hosted by student clubs and targeted classes, all of which are open to all students and alumni. Presentations will be approximately 30 to 45 minutes and may cover information including each organization’s own recruitment needs and internship opportunities, as well as topics such as interviewing, job searching and professionalism.

Student clubs partnering with the CDO in this effort include Tau Sigma, the Fredonia Democracy Initiative, Transfer Student Organization, American Society for Quality, Accounting Society and Phi Beta Lambda. Academic program partners include the departments of History, Political Science, International Studies, Computer Science/CIS and the School of Business, among others.

A current list of employer participants includes the following: Advanced Production Group LLC, Alliance Advisory Group, Calpine, Disney College Program, International Order of The King's Daughters and Sons, Lancaster Central School District, National Comedy Center, New York Mets, New York State Civil Service, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Service Collaborative of Western New York;

Also, Sundaze Water Sport Rentals, SUNY Global Engagement Program, SUNY Washington Internship Program, The Resource Center, Univera Healthcare, U.S. State Department and VanBuren Drive-in Theater & Activities Center. Additional participants may be added.

The showcase will take the place of the CDO’s Job & Internship Expo due to the pandemic.

At the end of the month all participants will be entered for a chance to win a $200 FSA gift card. Entries are earned for each presentation attended. Additionally, one participant from each session will receive a $25 FSA gift card. For more information, contact the CDO at 716-673-3327 or email.
