From footballs to… flutes? Retired coach trades whistles for woodwinds

After four decades of coaching, it’s hard to not belong to a team. So James Gibbons, a South Buffalo native who guided local football teams to league championships, went out and found a new one. He’s proudly playing the flute with the New Horizons Band of Western New York, under the direction of Dr. Katherine Levy of the Fredonia School of Music.

Roundtable on sustainable efforts taking place April 1

An interdisciplinary roundtable on conservation and environmental issues is planned for the Arts and Humanities Brown Bag Lecture Series on April 1 at noon in the Williams Center Room S104. Faculty members will explore connections between their scholarly and creative projects, personal lives and commitments to strengthening the sustainability efforts on campus and in our community.
