Two Fredonia faculty members are among recipients of the 2018-2019 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching, a system-wide honor that recognizes consistently superior teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

Assistant Professor Kieran Hanlon and the Fredonia Bass Studio are hosting Fredonia Bass Fest 2019 on Sunday, Feb. 17 in the School of Music. The 29th Fredonia Summer Music Festival at Fredonia continues its tradition of excellence with four summer music camps beginning in late June.The registration deadline is June 1 for all camps.
The follow-up CD to 2015’s ultra-popular “Built For Buffalo” recording of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra features two Fredonia faculty. “Built For Buffalo 2" released on the BPO’s house label, Beau Fleuve, and recorded over four years, it features the world premiere recordings of three pieces commissioned for BPO musicians.
A highly select group of young pianists competed in the final round of the Claudette Sorel Piano Competition on Nov. 3, beginning at noon, in Rosch Recital Hall, with Lukasz Yoder from Los Angeles named as the first prize winner.
