Brown Bag Lecture Series presents 'Ethics and Technology' on April 2

The Liberal Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Lecture Series will be presenting, "Ethics and Technology," on Wednesday, April 2, at noon in McEwen Hall Room 202.

Speakers will include:

• Bond Benton, assistant professor from the Department of Communication, will be presenting, “Social Media: Private Lives, Public Access, and Employment,” discussing how social media can affect our lives at home and work.

• Jason Cline, a Department of Philosophy student, will be presenting, “Spy Agency Surveillance Scandals: A Case Study.”

• Andrew Cullison, associate professor from the Department of Philosophy, will be presenting, “Grounding a Moral Right to Intellectual Property in the Information Age,” discussing how technology can limit our access to intellectual property.

• Robert Olson, visiting instructor from the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, will be presenting, “The Evolution of Tech Literacy,” discussing how tech literacy is changing and evolving rapidly.

Jack Croxton, distinguished service professor from the Department of Psychology, planned the panel and will serve as the moderator.

The overall theme for the Liberal Arts and Sciences Brown Bag 2013-2014 Lecture Series is issues that relate to technology. On April 2, the panel presentation will be focusing on the collision between ethics and technology.
