Choral concert performed April 13

The SUNY Fredonia School of Music presents a choral concert featuring two of its resident vocal ensembles: Women’s Choir, directed by Gwen Coleman Detwiler, and University Chorus, directed by Barbara Brinson. The concert is on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 4:00pm in King Concert Hall on the SUNY Fredonia campus. Free and open to the public.

The Women’s Choir opens the concert with “Come, All Musicians, Come” by Hans Leo Hassler. The rest of their program features works by Pfautsch, Brahms, Estevez, Hatfield and Copland. Their performance features music faculty members Mario Falcao (harp) and Marc Guy (horn), as well as music students Midori Tsujimoto (piano), Erin Deininger (horn) and Christina Tomek (flute).

The University Chorus, comprised of approximately 200 vocalists – both students and community members - features works by Mendelssohn, Aguiar, Barber and Hennagin. Their performances features student soloists Alicia Knights and Justin Moore, and student pianists Emily Ford and Meghan Koch.

Marrazzo conducts master classes

School of Music Assistant Professor Don Marrazzo gave a master class at Houghton University and also participated in a two-day residency at Detroit Opera to work with members of the Resident Artist Program.
