Five to join Fredonia State Athletics Hall of Fame

Bud Carpenter, trainer of the Buffalo BillsThe Fredonia State Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2008 will include three multiple-choice All-Americans, the Hall's first softball inductee, and a former athletic trainer who now plies his trade with the Buffalo Bills of the NFL.  Hall of Fame committee members meeting in March selected Chris Hughey, Chris Whitmore, Robert Healy, Melanie (Yaskulski) Deemer, and Bud Carpenter (Buffalo Bills trainer, in photo) for induction Oct. 18 on campus.

Relay sets school mark

The 4 x 100 relay team of Cameron Sample, Jordan Lockett, Jacob Winn, and Nick Marsowicz set a new Fredonia State outdoor record, finishing the race in 42.19 seconds. It was a regional-qualifying time, and .17 seconds behind the first-place Cortland team.

Pellechia earns fourth SUNYAC title

For the fourth time in four tries, pole vaulter Cara Pellechia can call herself a SUNYAC Champion. Pellechia cleared 3.50m to take the outdoor title at the SUNYAC Meet on Friday.
