Michael Barone
The Fredonia Guitar Ensemble will perform at 6 p.m. on March 28 in Rosch Recital Hall as part of the Art of the Guitar Series. The concert featuring this first-rate “guitar choir” spans the timbral and international spectrums, and promises to be a musical delight. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will feature works by Johan Helmich Roman, Mark Anthony Cruz, Tom Rasely, and Leslie Bassett.

The Fredonia Guitar Ensemble includes students Michael Klein, Mario Rubano, Michael Morris, Jahzeel Montes, Brian Paladino, Benjamin Brown, Matthew Downey, Timothy Franklin, John Sansone, and Jay Mobley.

This concert is part of the 2009 Art of the Guitar Festival, a collaborative event between the SUNY Fredonia School of Music, Ethos New Music Society, and the Fredonia Guitar Society, with additional funding provided by D'Addario Strings.

This year's series, “Composers Alive!” features music written for the guitar by living composers, and will include many world premiere performances. All concerts will take place in the acoustically delightful Rosch Recital Hall, located in Mason Hall on the SUNY Fredonia campus.
