  2. Faculty Recital: "20th Century Chamber Music", Saturday, Oct. 4, 8 p.m., Rosch Recital Hall (pre-concert talk with Dr. Gordon Root starts at 7 p.m.)

The centerpiece of the Saturday recital is Pierrot Lunaire, Schoenberg's ground breaking work which exemplifies much of the European artistic ethic of the first half of the 20th century.

To aid in the public's enjoyment of the Pierrot experience, SUNY Fredonia music theory professor, Dr. Gordon Root, will give a half-hour pre-concert talk starting at 7 p.m.  Audience members will also benefit from program notes by Dr. Paul Murphy, and a projected translation of the text during the performance.

This concert features SUNY Fredonia music faculty members Laura Koepke (bassoon), James Piorkowski (guitar), Shinobu Takagi (voice), Mary Marden Cobb (piano), Susan Royal (flute/piccolo), Andrew Siegel (clarinet/bass clarinet), Maureen Yuen (violin), David Rose (viola), with UB cello professor Jonathan Golove (cello).

Professor Wildy Zuwalt will conduct Pierrot Lunaire
