Johnston-Robledo earns Fellow status from APA

SUNY Fredonia Department of Psychology faculty member Ingrid Johnston-Robledo has been named a Fellow by the American Psychological Association (APA). The designation is given to scholars whose work has had a national impact on the field of psychology beyond a local, state or regional level.

Dr. Johnston-Robledo, an associate professor of Psychology at SUNY Fredonia, in addition to serving as the director of the university Women’s Studies program, has regularly published in APA journals such as Psychology of Women Quarterly and Sex Roles. She has also been elected to the board for the Society for Menstrual Cycle Research.

She has provided significant service to the APA, as both secretary to one of its divisions, the Society for the Psychology of Women, and as program co-chair for the 2007 APA convention.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
