Justin Goetz of Fredonia, a faculty member in visual arts and new media, will show wo prints in "Made in NY 2010," a group art exhibition at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, N.Y.

The exhibition features 73 works of art by 58 artists from New York state. The jurors for the annual event were Joan Lyons and John Von Bergen. There were 544 submissions from 282 artists for the show.

The two prints are both etchings that were created in 2009. For his creative process, Goetz generally draws a number of sketches and then picks out the best parts to use for the final design of a print. He tends to stick to the same types of subject matter - roads, architecturally challenged buildings, television antennas and birds. These images get lumped together in their own little lo - fi ambient spaces and landscapes.

The show is open from March 27 to May 16. There is a reception on Sunday, March 28. For more information, visit the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center's web site.

Goetz is a lecturer in SUNY Fredonia’s department of Visual Arts and New Media. He received his master of fine arts degree from the University of Arkansas.
