Mardi Gras Masquerade in Williams Center

The Black Student Union at SUNY Fredonia is sponsoring “A Mardi Gras Masquerade” for its annual Culture Night extravaganza on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center.

Culture Night honors various African American cultures and this year’s focus is on the culture of the Louisiana Creole, people who descended from settlers in colonial French Louisiana before it became part of the U.S. Many of those settlers came from French colonies in the Caribbean.

The Culture Night Committee of BSU is currently planning the event and has invited students at SUNY Fredonia to submit artwork featuring a Louisiana theme by Wednesday, Nov. 1, to Shawna Belnavis, President of BSU, Safiya Martin, Vice President, or Chyna Morris, Cultural Chair.
