Opera Theatre students to perform "Opera a la Carte" on Tuesday in Diers; raising funds for exploited children
On Tuesday, April 17, at 8 p.m. in Diers Recital Hall, 36 SUNY Fredonia students in the Student Opera Theatre Association will present, "Opera a la Carte," performing in duets, trios and quartets from various operas including Lakme, Der Rosenkavalier, Les contes d'Hoffmann, I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Iolanthe, Cosi fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Les pêcheurs de perles, L'Elisir d'amore, Yeoman of the Guard, La Clamenza di Tito, The Merry Widow and Don Pasquale.
This event will be a benefit concert for the Shropshire Music Foundation, which provides free musical instruments and instruction to former child soldiers and refugees in some of the world’s most wartorn places: Uganda, Kosovo, and Northern Ireland.
