SUNY Fredonia cast of SUITE, a film coming in April 2006

Get ready for the best Fredonia's filmmakers have to offer at the Fredonia Film Festival April 23.

Among the treats to be shown that day will be "SUITE," a teen comedy about a group of six best friends living together in their sophomore year at SUNY Fredonia.

All members of the DV Film Club, the talent behind this production are Directors Tony Wallace (sophomore, TV & digital film; Brewerton, NY) and James Domroe (senior, TV & digital film; Clay, NY), Producer Frank Tierney (sophomore, childhood education; Cheektowaga, NY), and Music Engineers Ian Anderson (sophomore, sound recording technology; Greenville, PA) and Mark Bengtson (sophomore, sound recording technology; Homer, NY).

"SUITE" is a blend of student talent, and also features student bands Sleepaway, Gonculator, and the Scarlett Ending.

The DV Film Club is a student organization that lets its members play and work with the entire experience of filmmaking on their own time and in their own way. They do scriptwriting, script revision, casting, lighting, sound, editing, shooting, reproduction, marketing and promotion. Members are currently working on five films that will be showcased at the Fredonia Film Festival on April 23.

Close to 20 students helped to complete "SUITE" over the past semester and a half. "It's a really exhausting process," Mr. Tierney said. "As students you don't realize how much time and effort goes into making a 20-minute film. It really opened our eyes to the real world of filmmaking."

Students can find out more about the movie by visiting the SUITE page on MySpace.com and Facebook.com.
