SUNY Fredonia rolls out "Relay for Life" Saturday

More than 400 SUNY Fredonia students, joined by some faculty and staff will participate in Relay for Life, an annual fundraiser that raises money for the American Cancer Society, beginning Saturday, April 21, at 6 p.m.

Through pledges and team work, more than $13,000 has already been raised for the campus event, which is part of a nationwide series.

More than 45 teams of students and volunteers will take turns walking around the indoor track; each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times of the event, which concludes Sunday, April 22, at 6 a.m.

Registration, which includes a $20 fee, begins Saturday at 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by Colleges Against Cancer.

Another Relay for Life event will take place on campus June 9 and 10, this one sponsored by campus and community organizers in Dunkirk and Fredonia.
