SUNY Fredonia’s Colleges Against Cancer student group will host the annual Relay for Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society on Saturday, April 20, at 4 p.m. until Sunday, April 21 at 4 a.m. in the Steele Hall Field House on the Fredonia campus.

So far, 38 teams of students and volunteers have registered to walk around the indoor track in Steele Hall in order to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The walk offers an opportunity for community members to participate in the fight against cancer. Through a pledge system – and a lot of team work – more than $6,400 has been raised for the campus event thus far, and more is expected, as it is part of a nationwide series.

For more information, contact Joyce Smith, Coordinator of Volunteer and Community Services, at Joyce.Smith@fredonia.edu or 716-673-3690.
