The Fredonia School of Music announced three showcase concerts to celebrate Family Weekend at SUNY Fredonia, which is taking place Oct. 16, 17, and 18.

Saturday, October 17 at 3pm: Choral Showcase Concert featuring Women’s Choir (Dr. Gwen Coleman Detwiler, conductor), Fredonia Chamber Singers (Dr. Donald P. Lang, director), and Fredonia College Choir (Dr. Gerald Gray, conductor). Works by Poulenc, Beach, Ortiz, G.F. Handel and more.
Rosch Recital Hall
Free and open to the public

Saturday, October 17 at 8:00 pm: College Symphony Orchestra
Featuring Student Concerto Competition Winner Emily Grissing, cello, performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor, op. 85; program also includes Dvorak’s Carnival Overture and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2.  Dr. David Rudge, conductor, King Concert Hall, Free and open to the public

Sunday, October 18 at 3:00pm: Band Showcase Concert
Featuring All College Band and Wind Symphony (Carl Mazzio, conductor), and Concert Band (Rick Fleming, guest conductor). Works by Shostakovich, Wagner, Grainger, Sousa and more.  King Concert Hall; free and open to the public
