Players from the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils  hockey team took time out of their busy practice schedule recently to get together with students from the Upward Bound Program at SUNY Fredonia.

The Upward Bound Program students and staff have been collecting donations for the American Cancer Society to help the team with their efforts in the “Power Plays for Cancer”.

Upward Bound students will also be attending the “Pink the Rink” game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7 when the Blue Devils will face the Buffalo State team.

Upward Bound Program Coordinator Patricia Messina said her students appreciate the hockey players for many reasons. "The Blue Devils have been extremely generous and kind to our program," she said. "Coach Meredith should be very proud!"
