Welcome Week events kick off Spring term

Welcome Week, full of activities and events for students, will be hosted by Spectrum Entertainment Board and sponsored by the Student Association. All events begin at 7 p.m. and are free.

Themed, "Through the Decades," each event will be based around a specific decade; the 1970s, ʼ80s, ʼ90s, or 2000s.

  • Monday, Jan. 27: ʼ70s ZUMBA. Certified ZUMBA instructors will lead students in a workout to the tunes of the ʼ70s. Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28: ʼ80s Movie night. Spectrum is presenting a showing of ,“Ferris Bueller's Day Off,” an ʼ80s classic! In Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 29: ʼ90s Karaoke night. Students are welcome to rock out to their favorite ʼ90s songs on the Tim Hortons’ stage in the Williams Center.
  • Thursday, Jan. 30: BINGO! Students can play to win their favorite prizes of the 2000s such as Ipods, Nooks, and more! Again, in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

The Hospital Locator, a new app designed for the iPhone that lets you locate the nearest hospital, has been developed by Alim Darmenov, a sophomore Computer Science major, under the supervision of SUNY Distinguished Professor Junaid Zubairi.
