Fredonia closed the regular season Saturday with a 74-73 road win over Potsdam in SUNYAC women's basketball. Next up is a SUNYAC Tournament game Tuesday.

Up by as many as 14 points in the first half, the Blue Devils (15-9 overall, 10-8 SUNYAC) fell behind 73-72 on a three-point basket by Potsdam's Jessica Kouzan with 1:25 left.

Kouzan asserted herself defensively and blocked two shots in the final minute, the last one with 2 seconds remaining on a layup attempt by Fredonia sophomore forward Sabrina Macaulay (Newark). Fouled on the rebound, Macaulay made two free throws with 1 second left to provide the winning points.

Senior guard Becky Hebert (Hilton, N.Y.) led the Blue Devil scoring with 24 points, including 12 of 12 from the foul line. In the process, she tied the school record for points in a season with 521 -- same as Sarah Adkins in 1997-98.

Senior forward Jaimie Warren (Lake View, N.Y.) had 15 points and 16 rebounds -- her second double-double of the weekend and ninth of the season. Sophomore guard Brittany LaForce (Weedsport) added a college career-high 19 points.
