The Department of Residence Life selected Woodford following his nomination by Marjorie Plaister, Assistant Director within the Career Development Office, where Woodford worked as a clerical assistant.

After only three and a half years at SUNY Fredonia, Woodford graduated in December. In addition to his performance at the Career Development Office, he served as a teacher’s assistant for Communication 101 and volunteered his time as a tutor in the Learning Center. During his first year at Fredonia, he led a recycling program in Grissom Hall, and has spent the last three years working the entrance at Terror in the Trees, Fredonia’s annual haunted woodland attraction.

Woodford plans to apply for graduate school in the fall.  He is considering a career in public relations and hopes to stay in Western New York.

Woodford enjoyed his time at Fredonia. “It provided opportunities to be involved and feel accomplished,” he said.

The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and community.
