Lauren Poplawski named January / February Student of the Month
Lauren Poplawski, of LaFayette, N.Y., has been named Student of the Month for January /
February by Residence Life. Lauren was nominated for this award by Donna “DG” Good, for
strong academics and numerous contributions, highlighted by Lauren’s work as a Resident
Assistant for Chautauqua Hall. Donna spoke highly of Lauren’s abilities stating “Lauren is a
highly motivated student. She takes a lot of initiative in her classes and as a member of the
campus community.” Lauren is a senior majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology.
When asked about her favorite things about Fredonia, Lauren wrote ”My favorite thing about
Fredonia is the many professors who genuinely prioritize the success of their students.”
Lauren’s future goals for this year include “After completing my undergraduate studies, I'm
excited to start my Master's degree in Social Work at Daemen University. My future goal is to
support adolescents who have experienced challenging circumstances that have
led to their involvement in criminal activity.”
The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are
well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and community.
