It is not only our ethical responsibility to respond in a comprehensive and supportive way to a student who discloses any type of sex discrimination or sex-based harassment, but it is also our legal responsibility. Faculty and staff at SUNY Fredonia are required to report to the Title IX Coordinator incidents of alleged prohibited sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, any type of discrimination or harassment based upon sex, sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity. sexual orientation. Employees must inform students who report this type of conduct to them that they are not a confidential resource and are required to report these incidents to the Title IX Coordinator. In addition, any time a student discloses they are pregnant, faculty/staff are strongly encouraged to provide the disclosing student with the Title IX Coordinator’s contact information. The Title IX Coordinator is able to coordinate any needed modifications/accommodations.
