As you prepare to join the Class of 2028 at Fredonia, this First-Year Student Checklist will guide you through the essential steps to ensure a smooth transition into college life. From securing your spot with a deposit to preparing for move-in day, these are steps to get you ready for fall.
Reserve your space in the Class of 2028 by submitting a $100 deposit ($50 residence hall deposit; $50 academic deposit). Upon being accepted you have until June 1 or 30 days after your acceptance (whichever is later), to send your deposit and commit to Fredonia.
Once your deposit is processed, a FREDMail account will be created for you.
Complete your Housing Application online after deposit. Rank your preferences and request roommates by June 14, 4:00 p.m. Questions? Contact the Office of Residence Life.
All students who have completed a FAFSA and are accepted to Fredonia will receive a Financial Aid Award Letter. Questions regarding this process can be directed to the Office of Financial Aid at 716-673-3253.

Send your final high school transcript and any AP, IB, CLEP scores or college credits earned during high school. Transcripts must come directly from the school.
All students must complete the course scheduling survey in Your Connection. This will assist the Advising Services Office to create your course schedule for the fall semester. Schedule adjustments can be made during an academic advising appointment in July following the completion of the FREDReady mini-course in FREDLearn (see below).
We have designed a two-step process to prepare both first-year and transfer students for the transition to Fredonia.
Move-in for new students takes place on Thursday, August 22 between 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
New Student Orientation, or the official introduction to the campus community, takes place during the three days following move-in. Students participate in an NSO Workshop, activities that assist a student to become oriented with campus and their new environment, as well as key academic and community connection activities.
