Alumni and students to discuss their experiences in local politics and campaigns

In the March 25 panel discussion, "Opportunities in Local Politics and Campaigns," SUNY Fredonia alumni and students will discuss their experiences and the opportunities available in local politics and campaigns. The panel discussion will be held on Thursday from 4 to 5:30 pm in S-104 of the Williams Center. The campus and community is invited.

The panelists represent Democratic, Republican and non-partisan experience in local politics, campaigning, and government within regional WNY counties. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. David Rankin, associate professor and chairperson of the political science department at SUNY Fredonia.

Panelists are:

  • Jeff Bochechio (’07) is the Western New York Regional Director for Minority Leader Dean Skelos and the former Executive Director for Erie County Executive Chris Collins
     
  • Nicholas Dhimitri, the 2008-09 SA President, is a campaign consultant for Brian Higgins for Congress and the former Campaign Manager for Chuck Cornell for Chautauqua County Executive
     
  • Joel Keefer (’98) is an Executive Assistant to Chautauqua County Executive Greg Edwards and a former Chautauqua Correspondent for the Buffalo News
     
  • John Mackowiak (’09) is a Staff Writer for the Dunkirk Observer and former Communication Director on the Cornell campaign
     
  • Shirley Pulawski is currently pursuing a degree in Geosciences and is the President of the League of Women Voters Chautauqua County.
