Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity will host its annual Safe Halloween, a gathering offering fun trick-or-treating for families in Fredonia and Dunkirk, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon in Mason Hall.
The Applied Communication Association (ACA) will be hosting its 12th annual Fall Sweep in conjunction with the Days of Service on Sunday, Oct. 30. The annual volunteer event serves the community by students raking leaves on Temple Street, Central Avenue and small side streets in the Village of Fredonia.
In celebration of “Constitution Day,” the Fredonia ALL IN Challenge will sponsor a presentation and discussion with Pulitzer Prize-nominated political reporter Bob McCarthy. The lecture is the first in a series of events scheduled during the Presidential election year and is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 20 in McEwen Hall Room G24 at 6 p.m.

The Career Development Office will host its eighth annual Graduate School Fair on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. A series of workshops devoted to specific graduate school topics will also be held beginning Oct. 17. Fredonia undergraduate students and alumni are welcome to attend the fair to learn more about graduate schools and the available opportunities.
Craig Matkin, executive director of the North Gulf Oceanic Society, and Elizabeth Bradfield, naturalist-poet and co-director of the Creative Writing program at Brandeis University, will speak Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17 and 18. Their interdisciplinary, collaborative presentations are part of a larger series of events commemorating the scientific and literary legacies of the late Eva Saulitis, a renowned nature writer and prominent orca biologist.
Dr. Ivani Vassoler, recipient of the 2016 President’s Award for Teaching and Learning, will present, "Americans in Brazil, Brazilians in the U.S.: A Two-Century Long Relationship,” on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. in Juliet J.
