The student group English Works will host its first event - a mini job fair - on Tuesday, April 30, from noon until 3 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204.

At noon, students will be able to network with representatives of local businesses and student groups, followed by a presentation at 12:40 p.m. by Director of Career Development Tracy Collingwood.

At 1 p.m. a panel discussion moderated by Ms. Collingwood, “The Value of the English Degree in the Modern Workplace,” will feature alumnus Randy Cronk, founder of greatwriting.com; Dr. Lisa Graziano, managing editor of Leapfrog Press; alumnus John D’Agostino, managing editor of The Observer; Robert Fritzinger, executive director of the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator, and Dr. David Kaplin of the Department of English.

From 2 until 3 p.m., the event will wrap up with a networking mingle with the participants to discuss on and off-campus opportunities for English majors.

Students are encouraged to attend this free event.

The group also hosts its blog at FredoniaEnglishWorks.wordpress.com.
