Criminal Justice Club to host Detective-Turned-Poet April 30

Cvetic, renowned in Pittsburgh where he worked as an officer for many years before retiring as Director of the Pittsburgh Police Athletic League, now runs a gym where he helps at-risk teenagers and writes poetry on his experiences as an undercover police officer.

Ambassador James Foley, '79 grad, to speak at Brown Bag

The Arts and Sciences Brown Bag Series concludes on May 1 with a presentation by Ambassador James Foley (B.A., ’79). In his address, “Can an Exceptional Nation Have a Normal Foreign Policy?” he will offer the perspective of nearly 30 years in the foreign service regarding the immense changes in the international landscape that have occurred in that period, and the likely challenges confronting America in the years to come.

Women’s and Gender Studies Spring Symposium showcases capstone research

Students graduating with a major or minor in Women’s and Gender Studies will present summaries of their capstone research projects on Monday April, 29 at 4 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204D. Announced at the event will be the winner of the $450 Jeanette McVicker scholarship.

John Bielenberg, whose fascinating journey as a designer, entrepreneur and imaginative advocate for a better world now includes a prestigious design-industry award, will share his insight into creative problem solving during a three-day Visiting Artist Program role at SUNY Fredonia starting Thursday, May 2, at 8:30 p.m. at 209 McEwen.
