Exhibit of faculty works showing in Gallery

Gallery posterAn exhibition featuring works by the faculty of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at the State University of New York at Fredonia will be on display in the main art gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning Sept. 11.

The show, which will feature old and new works from the faculty members, opens with a reception on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. in the gallery lobby. The exhibit will be on display through Sunday, Oct. 18.

The participating faculty members are Bob Booth, Tim Frerichs, Justin Goetz, Phil Hastings, Jill Johnston-Price, Steve Komp, Liz Lee, Hidetoshi Sadohara, Peter Tucker and Megan Urban.

Art Gallery Director Tina Hastings said in addition to creating new works for the exhibit, the artists will be bringing back some favorite works from previous shows.

Gallery hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Strauss to conduct area concerts

Dr. Robert Strauss will conduct the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus in “ WALK TOGETHER,” a concert to be performed at three sites in May and featuring “Tyler’s Suite,” a nine-song cycle about the life and death of Tyler Clementi, as well as songs from, or about, Buffalo, NY.
