The Foolz to unleash fun at Rockefeller Arts Center

The FoolzGet ready, because The Foolz (Masters of Mayhem) are coming to Rockefeller Arts Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia – and they are set to unleash a fast-paced barrage of theater, music, comedy, plate spinning and juggling.

The Foolz ─ Henrik Bothe (The Dapper Dane) and Woody Keppel (Woodhead) ─ will present “A February Festival of Fun” on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre.

This is the second event in the Kaleidoscope Family Series sponsored by Howard Hanna Holt Real Estate. The event sponsor is Pucci’s Carpet One Furniture and Bedding. It is part of the 2008-09 Lake Shore Savings Season.

Veterans of film, television, radio and the stage, Bothe and Keppel have performed for audiences on six continents. Their new show, Foolz (Masters of Mayhem), is a character-driven amalgam of theater, music, comedy and juggling that visually demonstrates the power of cooperation between performers with vastly different dispositions.

One is outwardly calm while the other wound tighter than a spring. If there is a dim-witted innocence about them, it’s because their childlike charm permeates their world, placing them in situations where something almost always goes wrong.

Bothe, fluent in four languages, is a Danish juggler with enormous dexterity and casual ease, while his partner, Keppel, weaves a tapestry of chaos, slapstick and “eclectic” music with the menacing uncertainty of a tornado.

Recently featured at HBO’s Comedy Festival with Jon Stewart and Penn & Teller, their high-tech optical illusion “Neonman” never fails to wow an audience.

The Foolz signature grand finale is a one of a kind, frenzied, frenetic juggle montage using a consortium of absurd objects such as chairs, guitars, bird cages, umbrellas, rubber chickens and more. With The Foolz, no two shows are ever the same, so expect the unexpected when they visit Rockefeller Arts Center.
