Phil Hastings, Visual Arts and New Media (VNMA) Assistant Professor at SUNY Fredonia, will be featured as part of a region wide art exhibition. His work "Steadfast" will be screened at the Buffalo Arts Studio in Buffalo NY, from Sept. 26 through Jan. 1.

The 2010 Beyond/In WNY Biennial, a popular multi-venue regional art exhibit continues to grow, spanning through Erie and Niagara Counties as well as at public sites throughout the region.

The exhibit will showcase the work of over 100 emerging and established artists from the greater WNY region including Ohio, Pennsylvania and Canada, that will be participating in a unique collaboration of 14 curators from 12 museums, galleries and arts organizations.

Phil Hastings’s "Steadfast" is the first in a series of four films in the ongoing “Lake Series.”

Inspired by the artist’s personal experience in a devastating flood in 2009, the art show’s catalog describes is as “a terrifyingly seductive film of a remote house eclipsed by waves crashing against a rocky shoreline; is a gripping enactment of the explosive power and destructive force of nature.”
