Lang’s legion of supporters back home -- who each chipped in $30 towards a goal of $6,000 for Roswell -- were treated to an email dispatch and early-morning photograph of Lang dipping the rear wheel of his 24-speed bicycle into the Pacific Ocean. An article by SUNY Fredonia assistant professor of communication Bond Benton will be published in Palooka Journal later this April. The piece is a creative non-fiction article entitled, “Conquest at the Maiden Tower,” which describes Benton’s experience and research while he practiced public relations overseas.

Raymond Stewart is the newest substitute in “Chicago,” which is currently in its 14th year on Broadway and will soon be starring world-famous supermodel Christie Brinkley for an 11-week engagement. Brian Studley, a nine-year veteran of University Police at SUNY Fredonia, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Studley, who has 12 years of experience in law enforcement, becomes the supervising officer of the 3-to-11 p.m. shift.
Senior Emily Benedict was selected as the National Association of Social Work NYS Western Division’s Student of the Year at the organization’s annual award luncheon on March 3. The judges indicated that she stood out in part because of her leadership role in the campus’ suicide prevention program.
Dr. Natalie Gerber’s essay, “Missing Milosz,” which presents her reflections of working with Czeslaw Milosz, one of the great moral and literary figures of the 20th century, is included in a new book, “An Invisible Rope: Portraits of Czeslaw Milosz.”
Dr. Paul Blanchet presented the poster, “Knowledge and Awareness of the Vocal Mechanism and Care Among University Voice Majors,” that was the culmination of research conducted by graduate student Allison Miller at the recent SUNY/CUNY Graduate Research that Matters Exposition in Albany.
