As the end of the semester nears and final projects become due, reference librarians will be available at two sites outside of Reed Library to assist students. Responding to requests from last semester, LOL (Librarians on Location) will return on Monday, April 30. In addition to service at the reference desk in Reed Library, librarians will be in the Fenton Hall lobby and Science Center atrium.
With some exceptions, campus buildings will be closed effective close of business Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
What’s it like to attend college? High school students pondering this important question can get the inside track on the collegiate experience on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Fredonia Exploration Day.
Spectrum Entertainment Board would like to invite all Fredonia students, faculty, and staff to Activities Night on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 7 until 8:30 p.m., in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse.
One of the strategies outlined in the campus’ 2015 Strategic Enrollment Management plan is to “reimagine campus spaces to encourage and support engagement among faculty, staff and students.” All faculty, staff, and students are invited to join one of two “town hall” meetings to help develop Fredonia’s vision and philosophy of student success.
The Office of International Education will be holding information sessions throughout the semester for its summer and semester study abroad programs in Iceland, Italy and Paris, France. The public is invited to attend.
Students can warm up to the new semester at the spring edition of “Welcome Week,” five consecutive days of fun activities for students, faculty and staff, hosted by Spectrum Entertainment Board and sponsored by Student Association. All attractions are free.
The Fredonia Blue Devil men's hockey team visited Fredonia Elementary School as part of the new "Celebrate Monday" program. The players formed a human tunnel at both school entrances and high-fived youngsters entering the building at the start of their school week. On future Mondays, other Blue Devil teams will do likewise.
The New York State Museum’s traveling exhibition, “Votes for Women,” will be on display in Reed Library throughout November, beginning with an opening reception on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 5 pm. Also featured is a companion exhibition, curated by Fredonia English students, that focuses on local women’s suffrage history, as well as the history of the League of Women Voters.
Fredonia recently hosted its inaugural Enactus team summit for the New York region, attracting more than 67 students from six colleges and universities to the campus recently to learn how to further develop their Enactus skills, with the goal to have a continuing impact on their communities.
