The first performance in the United States of music from “Arctic Song,” a musical written by Denny Laine, a former member of the Moody Blues and Wings and a GRAMMY Award recipient, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 8 p.m., in Rosch Recital Hall.
The Fredonia Department of Theatre and Dance's extra performance of "Godspell" has sold out. The additional performance was added after the rapid sale of tickets for the original six performances.
Professional photographer Shannon Taggart will discuss her creative work in spiritualistic photography as well as business aspects of her profession, including her perspective as a small business owner, at a presentation on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Fredonia Technology Incubator.
“SEVEN,” the internationally acclaimed dramatization of global abuses against women, will be presented at Fredonia and Jamestown Community College.
“Poinsettia Pops” will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in King Concert Hall as part of the DFT Communications Series. The Highland Divas, a trio based in New York City, will bring their Celtic vocal stylings to some all-time Christmas classics. Also featured will be the Western New York Chamber Orchestra.
Fredonia School of Music Concerto Competition winner Lucia E.S. Helgren will perform on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m., in Rosch Recital Hall with the Fredonia Chamber Orchestra. The program will also include the “String Serenade” by Tchaikovsky and Mozart's masterful Symphony No. 40 in g minor.
The Silverwind Duo of clarinetist Dr. Andrew Seigel and flutist Dr. Nicole McPherson of the Fredonia School of Music will perform and teach during Thanksgiving week on the campus of New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi. The duo will travel 18 hours on the first leg of their adventure.
The artwork of the internationally renowned collaborative duo Kahn and Selesnick will be on display in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery starting Sept. 6 in “Truppe Fledermaus and the Carnival at the End of the World.”
Forty-five lithographs, drawings, pastels, and watercolors by George W. Eggers (1883-1958) will be exhibited at the Fredonia Technology Incubator (FTI) Art Gallery from Aug. 22 through Sept. 30.
The Hillman Opera will present a pair of classic works in October designed to leave audiences “truly moved emotionally.” The double bill of operatic classics features Henry Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas,” a signature work of the Baroque era, paired with Gian-Carlo Menott’s 20th century masterpiece, “The Medium.” Sorcery and witchcraft – real and imagined – are at the heart of each plot.
