Fredonia undergraduate honored with EOP award for excellence

State University of New York Chancellor Jim Malatras Monday celebrated the achievements of 45 students in SUNY’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), including a Fredonia undergraduate, Ithamare Joseph, who were honored with the Norman R. McConney, Jr., Award for Student Excellence.

Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences Assistant Professor Jessica Finkeldey and two fellow researchers generated valuable insight into the association between problem gambling and criminal behavior that undermines a commonly held assumption – that gambling disorders can lead to criminal outcomes.
