Host of Sabres Hotline, '95 alum, to speak Tuesday

Kevin Sylvester, host of Sabres Hockey Hotline on WGR Radio (550 AM), will be speaking to campus and community members on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Williams Center, W204E.

The event is sponsored by the SUNY Fredonia chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and is free and open to both campus and community members.

A SUNY Fredonia alumnus from the class of 1995, Sylvester has worked for the Buffalo Sabres since 2005. Sylvester is the host of “Sabres Hockey Hotline,” a radio show on Buffalo AM station WGR 550.

He has also worked for other Buffalo Sports teams, including the UB Bulls and the arena football team the Buffalo Destroyers, while also doing work for the former Charlotte Hornets of the NBA.

He has received the “Best Sportscaster” Award from Electronic News Association of the Carolinas. He also created and hosted “Tee 2 Green” on Channel 2 WGRZ, showcasing golf courses in the Buffalo/Niagara Region.
