Lake Shore Savings will be the 2009-2010 season sponsor for Rockefeller Arts Center

For a third straight season, Lake Shore Savings has made a major investment in performing arts programming at the State University of New York at Fredonia.

The Dunkirk-based financial institution has again pledged $10,000 as the season sponsor at the Michael C. Rockefeller Arts Center. This investment by Lake Shore Savings will support a line up of diverse entertainment events during the 2009-2010 season.

David C. Mancuso, president and CEO, said Lake Shore Savings is pleased to continue its role as the season-wide sponsor.

“The arts enrich the lives of everyone on campus, as well as the surrounding communities,” Mr. Mancuso said. “Lake Shore Savings is proud to support the arts at SUNY Fredonia.”

A long-time supporter of Rockefeller Arts Center and SUNY Fredonia, Lake Shore Savings became the first-ever season-wide sponsor in 2007-08. Rockefeller Arts Center Director Jefferson Westwood noted Lake Shore Savings was the Center’s first-ever corporate sponsor and has continued in that role since 1987.

“It’s great to have Lake Shore Savings back as our flagship season-wide sponsor,” Mr. Westwood said. “They have been so supportive of SUNY Fredonia in so many ways, including the installation of the clock tower in 2001 and the acquisition of ‘Popeye,’ the red spiral sculpture at the front of our building. They do so much for our region that they stand out in my mind as the model corporate citizen in our area.”

The 2009-2010 performing arts season at Rockefeller Arts Center begins in September and runs through May. Lake Shore Savings will underwrite the entire season, which includes events in the DFT Communications Pops Series, the Kaleidoscope Family Series sponsored by Star Media Group, the Walter Gloor Mainstage Series and the World Travel Series sponsored by Fredonia Place.

Season ticket information is available through the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center or by calling 716-673-3501 (1-866-441-4928).

In addition to its support of events and programs at SUNY Fredonia, Lake Shore Savings supports many worthy local causes through its Community Reinvestment Fund. The fund makes money available to area clubs, sports organizations, civic groups, schools, charitable organizations and others for programs and activities. Lake Shore Savings has deep roots in the community, having been chartered in 1891 in Dunkirk. Over the last century-plus, the financial institution has experienced tremendous growth. Since opening its first branch office in Fredonia in 1987, Lake Shore Savings has added branches in East Amherst, Hamburg, Jamestown (two), Kenmore, Orchard Park and Westfield. At the same time, Lake Shore Savings has seen its assets grow to in excess of $300 million.
