Lake Shore Savings returns as season sponsor at Rockefeller Arts Center

Lake Shore savings supports Rockefeller Arts Center

Lake Shore Savings has once again pledged $10,000 to support the arts in Northern Chautauqua County by returning as the season-wide sponsor for Rockefeller Arts Center at SUNY Fredonia. This marks the sixth consecutive season in which the Dunkirk-based financial institution has made the commitment.

The investment by Lake Shore Savings will once again go to support a lineup of diverse entertainment events. The lineup includes:

  • The DFT Communications Pops Series: The Hit Men, a group of six professional singers/musicians who perform pop hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, on Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m., “Big Band Christmas Spectacular” on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and “Great American Songbook, Part I: Commencement Eve Pops” on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.
     
  • The Kaleidoscope Family Series sponsored by the Observer: “Robin Hood by DuffleBag Theatre” on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., “The Gruffalo” on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and “Pirate School!” on March 1 at 7 p.m.
     
  • The Walter Gloor Mainstage Series: “Chicago” from Oct. 19-27, “The Piano Lesson” from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8, “Stop the World – I Want to Get Off” from March 8 to 16, the “The Diary of Anne Frank” from April 12 to 20 and “Fredonia Dance Ensemble In Concert” from May 3 to 5.
     
  • The World Travel Series sponsored by Fredonia Place: “Wales Land of Song” on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and “Burma: Reflections on a Hidden Land” on April 6 at 7:30 p.m. The series opened Sept. 22 with “Lure of Alaska.”
     
  • The Hillman Opera: “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi” from Nov. 8 to 11.
     
  • The Western New York Chamber Orchestra Classics Series: “Bach to Basics” on Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.; “Generations” on Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. and “The Consul” on March 17 at 4 p.m. The series opened Sept. 16 with “Musical Portraits.”

Rockefeller Arts Center Director Jefferson Westwood described Lake Shore Savings as a “model corporate citizen” that has done a great deal in support of SUNY Fredonia and the local community.
