President Dennis L. Hefner will present the awards this year to Michael S. Bleecher, associate director of admissions; Holly J. Lawson, associate professor of chemistry; and Deborah McCown, office manager for the Faculty Student Association. President Hefner will also recognize SUNY Fredonia employees for years of service (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, or 45).
UNY Fredonia’s English Department will welcome three of its counterparts at SUNY Brockport to campus to discuss World Literature in English Curriculum. Drs. J. Roger Kurtz, Austin Busch, and Sharon Lubkemann Allen will appear on Monday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. in 105 Fenton Hall, to deliver a presentation that is free and open to the public.

The first time on the silver screen for the SUNYWide Film Festival at SUNY Fredonia was no dry run; it was a resounding success. A total of 275 participants came from other campuses to participate.
As part of its Earth Day teach-in on April 22nd, SUNY Fredonia will host a town hall meeting on energy issues from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center. During the forum, Western New York residents can share their concerns about proposed energy projects with elected officials and their representatives.
The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music concludes its third season of free concerts designed to appeal to very young children on Saturday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Dunkirk Free Library. The Fredonia Guitar Quartet will introduce their music and instruments to children.
The daylong music festival is to be held on April 25 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Barker Common Gazebo on Temple Street and Main Street in Fredonia. It will feature 11 bands from the SUNY Fredonia collegiate community. The event’s goal is to raise $500 to be used to build a well for fresh water for a community in Africa.
