In conjunction with the “Big Read” program, coordinated on campus by The Daniel A. Reed Library, the University Bookstore is now selling Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” for $7.99.

Graduate Office announces Thursday evening hours for public

The Graduate Studies Office will now be open for extended hours on Thursday nights until 9 p.m. The office made the decision after feedback from prospective and current students revealed that Thursday nights would be a good time for them to socialize and connect with peers and colleagues. Students who are off-campus on Thursday evenings are free to call 716-673-3808 or chat online. As always, feedback on the services of the office is welcomed. Stay informed about special events and informational group chats by joining the Graduate Studies Office Facebook group or listserv. Stop by with any questions or concerns – the candy bowl is always full! Graduate Studies Office Hours are: Monday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Tutors Sought for College Tutoring Services

FREDONIA, N.Y. — Jan. 29, 2009 —The College Tutoring Services office (CTS), together with the Learning Center, the Full Opportunity Program, Disability Support Services for Students and the Educational Development Program, is now hiring students to join its tutoring staff for the 2009/2010 academic year. CTS tutors are paid an hourly wage to work a scheduled number of hours, from 2 to 6 p.m., for drop-in students at the Learning Center or in one-on-one hourly sessions with specific students assigned by the program. “Working as a tutor not only pays but has proven to be a golden credential for students seeking admission to graduate programs, competing for jobs, fellowships and teaching positions,” said Learning Center Director Liza Smith. Applications are available in the Educational Development Program Office, the Learning Center, and online at www.fredonia.edu/tlc. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 13 by 5 p.m. All applications must be submitted to the Learning Center on the fourth floor of Reed Library. Organizations invited to be part of Wellness Fair

FREDONIA, N.Y. — Jan. 29, 2009 — The Employee Assistance Program Committee at SUNY Fredonia is looking for community organizations to be participants at its annual Wellness Fair, being held on Thursday, March 26 in the SUNY Fredonia Williams Center Multipurpose Room from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Wellness Fair at SUNY Fredonia is one of the largest in Chautauqua County. It provides SUNY Fredonia faculty, staff, students and community members with important health and wellness information. The fair also gives local organizations an opportunity to showcase their services and/or products, free-of-charge.
