Training in trash caps-off Earth Week

To build awareness of what is discarded and the potential for recycling, students at SUNY Fredonia will participate in a “trash dump” on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 2 p.m.

Native Plant Garden to sprout during Earth Week

On Saturday, April 26, ground will be broken for a new native plant garden. The brainchild of area biologist Priscilla Titus and facilitated by Assistant Professor of Biology Jonathan Titus, the garden will be established next to the greenhouse at Jewett Hall, home of the biology department. It will be planted, beginning at 11 a.m., by Dr. and Ms. Titus and students from the biology program

High school students will tour College of Education

High school students from local school districts and the Cassadaga Job Corps Center will be making visits to the College of Education this month to learn more about financial aid, the undergraduate and graduate programs in education, student activities at SUNY Fredonia, and to tour the campus.

B.C.I.C. clinic schedule

The Birth Control Information Center offers clinics once a week on Mondays or Thursdays. The clinics offer pap smears along with chlamydia and gonorrhea testing, thin preps, visual STD testing, HPV acid treatment, along with other gynecological care. All clinics are student-run, while doctors perform the medical procedures

Annual Wellness Fair is March 19

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) announced its Annual Wellness Fair will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. All employees are encouraged to visit the many health and wellness professionals participating in this year’s event.

Dual teaching certification program offered

The College of Education at SUNY Fredonia announced that it is implementing a new dual certification program in Childhood Inclusive Education that prepares candidates to teach all students in grades one through six, including those with special needs.
