FSA annual meeting open to public April 28

The Faculty Student Association's annual meeting on Thursday, April 28, at 3:30 p.m. is open to the public and all members of the association are encouraged to attend. All SUNY Fredonia faculty, students and staff are members of the Faculty Student Association.

Buddhist cultures and traditions to be shared on Meditation Day

Spend a day away from the hustle and bustle and unwind…it’s Meditation Day in Fredonia! The International Education Center, together with the Center for Multicultural Affairs, educates and creates understanding across world cultures and traditions by presenting meditation sessions on April 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Newman Center on Temple Street.

Panelists will encourage creativity in student learning

An interactive panel and exhibition of SUNY Fredonia’s students and staff will present examples of creative projects completed by more than 10 students in literature and language classes in the English and Modern Languages departments. Along with presenting examples, the panel will be sharing ideas for future projects that use creativity and critical thinking.

Awareness campaign planned for March 2

“Spread the word to end the word” is the theme of a one-day awareness campaign being sponsored by the Resident Assistant Advisory Board on Wednesday, March 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to banish the use of the words “retard” and “retarded” from our vocabulary.
