A representative from Lifelong Learning will be available at Reed Library to answer questions and help students register for Summer Session Classes, on Monday, April 11 (2 to 4 p.m.); Tuesday, April 12 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.); and Wednesday, April 13 (1 to 4 p.m.).
The Flight of Hope Committee is pleased to announce a successful conclusion to the effort to fold 3,000 cranes for our sister institutions in Japan, each one reflecting an individual donation to Japan's relief fund. Cranes were sent to SUNY Fredonia's three sister institutions in Japan on Friday, April 1.

Spend a day away from the hustle and bustle and unwind…it’s Meditation Day in Fredonia! The International Education Center, together with the Center for Multicultural Affairs, educates and creates understanding across world cultures and traditions by presenting meditation sessions on April 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Newman Center on Temple Street.
Children and their families will once again have the chance to hear from some of the area’s premier story tellers, as SUNY Fredonia’s English Department faculty, Reed Library staff — even President Dennis Hefner — host the campus’ annual “Bedtime Stories” night.
Donations of new or gently used women’s business clothing are being collected by the SUNY Fredonia women’s softball team, in conjunction with the Everywoman Opportunity Center in Dunkirk, from Monday through Friday, March 21 to 25.
Eligible students are invited to compete for two $1,075 scholarships to the State University of New York at Fredonia as a result of a scholarship fund created by Welch’s and the National Grape Cooperative for its employees and grower-owners.
An interactive panel and exhibition of SUNY Fredonia’s students and staff will present examples of creative projects completed by more than 10 students in literature and language classes in the English and Modern Languages departments. Along with presenting examples, the panel will be sharing ideas for future projects that use creativity and critical thinking.
“Spread the word to end the word” is the theme of a one-day awareness campaign being sponsored by the Resident Assistant Advisory Board on Wednesday, March 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to banish the use of the words “retard” and “retarded” from our vocabulary.
