The SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Paula Holcomb, presents an evening of three distinctively notable works on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall.
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra continues its Mozart-themed season on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. in King Concert Hall with a program entitled “Vestiges.” A pre-concert talk will be held at 3 p.m. in the art gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center.
RETRO, the Fredonia School of Music's 20th century faculty chamber music group, will present a concert on Sunday Feb. 13, at 4 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall, focusing on works by the Italian composer Luciano Berio (1925-2003), renowned for his musical experimentation.
A free performance by renowned soprano, Tony Arnold, will continue the month-long NewSound Music Festival presented by the Ethos New Music Society at SUNY Fredonia. The performance will include the works of student composers and poets on Friday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.
Performed on Saturday, Dec. 11, this community-wide holiday tradition symbolizes goodwill between the university and its community, and features the Fredonia Women’s Choir, I-Fei Chen-Markham on piano, and Father Sean Duggan playing organ with Mr. Justin Pomietlarz conducting.
Now in its fifth season, the annual Holiday Concert for the Community will be performed Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. The production showcases the Fredonia College Choir under the direction of Dr. Gerald T. Gray and features an international cast of soloists and Baroque players from Boston, Cleveland and Toronto, alongside Fredonia’s world-class faculty and members of the Western New York Chamber Orchestra.
The DFT Communications Pops Series will present “Christmas on Broadway,” featuring The Best of Broadway, on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall. The concert is sponsored by Bahgat and Laurito-Bahgat as part of the Lake Shore Savings Season.
