Morrison topples 800 record again

For the third time in her career, Laura Morrison has broken Fredonia's outdoor 800-meter run record, this time by more than a second. Her second-place finish of 2:11.05 at the State University of New York Athletic Conference championships was faster than her previous school record of 2:12.34. Oneonta's Rachel Shine finished just .05 seconds faster at 2:11.00.

Sweep earns Devils trip to tourney

The Fredonia baseball team clinched a SUNYAC playoff berth on Saturday winning 7-3 and 15-5 over Plattsburgh. The Devils qualified for the tournament for the third time in four years.

Devils knocked out despite win over Potsdam

Fredonia women's lacrosse got the win it needed Saturday at Potsdam, just not by as large as score they needed to make the SUNYAC Tournament. The Blue Devils emerged with a 9-8 victory over the Bears, yet needed to win by two or more goals to make the six-team SUNYAC Tournament.

Morgan climbs to No. 4 in career hits

Senior Alyssa Morgan (Homer/Homer) moved up another spot on the Blue Devil career hits list during Sunday's SUNYAC softball doubleheader with Plattsburgh. Morgan went 3 for 3 in the first game to move past Melanie Yaskulski into fourth place on Fredonia's career hit list.

Devils claim I-90 Cup with 9-run ninth

A nine-run ninth inning carried Fredonia past border rival Penn State Behrend, 17-10, in non-conference college baseball Monday. Down 10-8 at the start of the inning, the Blue Devils (17-17) send 12 batters to the plate and had nine straight batters reach base before an out was recorded.

Blue Devil highlights from Rochester meet

Among the Fredonia women, sophomore Brittany Feldman (Jamestown/Southwestern) moved to second all-time in the 100 meters on the Blue Devil career list (12.36 seconds) and finished second overall. She also won the 200-meter dash in 25.41 seconds. In the 10,000 meters, juniors Kelly Vincent (Randolph/Randolph) and Rebekah Champlin (Rushville/Rushville) ran into the Top 10 all-time.

Bartlett named SUNYAC Diver of Year

Success on the national stage led to Fredonia's Meghan Bartlett (Johnstown, N.Y./Johnstown) winning the 2016 SUNYAC Outstanding Female Diver of the Year Award. A junior making her second trip to the NCAA championships, Bartlett earned two more All-America honors. In the 1-meter dive she finished second behind the four-time national champion. Bartlett also finished third in the 3-meter dive.

Blue Devils hold off Mount Union

Fredonia won its third straight women's lacrosse game Saturday, a 9-5 decision over Mount Union at University Stadium. Audrey Yokopovich had three goals and two assists. She had a hand in all of Fredonia's second-half scoring to help turn back a Mount Union comeback bid.

Carlson national runner-up, double All-American

Arron Carlson won straight All-American honors, taking second place in the men's 1-meter springboard dive at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Carlson's second place finish of 521.75 came on the heels of his All-American honors in the 3-meter springboard dive the same week.
