Choral Ensemble Audition Information

One need not be a music major to audition for any ensemble. Only 2 ensembles, All College Band and University Chorus, do not require an audition.

All Music Majors enrolled in curricular lessons are required to audition for ensemble placement.

Choral Ensemble Auditions (Spring 2020)

Auditions for College Choir Dr. Melvin Unger, conductor, and Camerata (treble voices) Dr. Adam Luebke, conductor, are open to any students in the university. The ten minute audition will consist of an interview, pitch matching, scales, and a four to eight bar sight reading example. No prepared piece is required. All new students taking curricular voice lessons must audition for a choir placement, except for Music Theatre majors. Please note that students do not have to audition for University Chorus, they may just sign up and attend the first rehearsal.

Students who are accepted into College Choir or Camerata must also register for MUS 048: Masterworks (.5). It meets Fridays 1 – 2:50 PM).
