This year's Pink the Rink effort resulted in a raising more than $4,000 for the American Cancer Society. In all, more than $5,000 in donations were collected.
As part of Black History Month, the Communication Department has invited Dr. Aleen Ratzlaff, Associate Professor at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, to speak on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in Room 202 in McEwen Hall.

Public relations students from SUNY Fredonia will hold a news conference Thursday, Feb. 19, at 2:30 p.m. in the President's Conference Room to announce a partnership with two nonprofit organizations from Chautauqua County.
Birger Vanwesenbeeck (English) has been awarded a Summer Research Fellowship from the Northeast Modern Language Association. He will receive the award during a formal ceremony at the NeMLA conference in Boston at the end of February. The monetary award of $1,000 will allow him to do research at the Paul de Man Archives at the University of California at Irvine for an article-in-progress (tentatively) entitled "Faust in the Fifties: Gaddis, de Man, and Fielder."
In conjunction with the “Big Read” program, coordinated on campus by The Daniel A. Reed Library, the University Bookstore is now selling Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” for $7.99.
1993 Theatre and Dance major, Andy Konrad, appeared in an episode on the ABC series, "Life On Mars." Andy, a freelance actor, played the guitarist in Sebastian Grace's band. He reported having a lot of fun working on the project.
