Two non-profits get assistance from PR class

Students in the public relations senior capstone course at SUNY Fredonia announced at a news conference on campus that they will develop awareness campaigns for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County and the renowned Das Puppenspiel Puppet Theater.

International Dinner planned for March 11

Aromas from foods representing cultures from around the globe will entice students to try new cuisine at the annual International Dinner to be served Wednesday, March 11, at Marketplace at Erie by FSA. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. Extra staff will be on duty to help accommodate a larger dinner turnout of students. The dinner is covered through the campus meal plans but the public is welcome to pay cash at the door

Sudoku skills subject of mathematical presentation

Professor of Mathematical Sciences Joseph Straight and senior Mathematics/Childhood Education major Constance Hadley will be giving an informative presentation on Sudoku Puzzles on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Fenton 168. Professor Straight and Hadley are interested in helping students develop their mathematical reasoning and communication skills.

NewSound presenting two concerts with pianists

Pianists Amy Williams and Hilary Demske will continue the 9th Annual NewSound Festival at SUNY Fredonia by performing in concerts on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 28, both at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall. NewSound is an annual event highlighting new music which is sponsored by the student group, Ethos New Music Society, at SUNY Fredonia. Both concerts are free and open to all.

Children’s Concerts features African Drum Ensemble Feb. 28

The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music continues its third season of free concerts designed to appeal to very young children. Selected student ensembles from the Fredonia School of Music will perform half-hour Children’s Concerts on four Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. continuing on Saturday, Feb. 28 in the Darwin R. Barker Library, 7 Day Street in Fredonia

EDP to hold 27th awards ceremony and induct honor students

SUNY Fredonia’s Educational Development Program (EDP) will celebrate its students at the 27th annual awards ceremony on Wed., March 11 at 4 p.m. in the Horizon Room of the Williams Center. Rohan Patrick, a 1992 graduate who is now the new owner and manager of The White Inn in Fredonia, will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award during the ceremony.
